Which travel eSIM is actually cheapest?
There is no single winner, and the split is regional. Compared like for like on a 5 GB plan valid for 30 days, eSimania is cheaper across most of Europe and East Asia, while Airalo is cheaper across Latin America, Africa and the Gulf. That is why our country guides do not always point the same way: we name whichever is genuinely cheaper for that country, including when it is not the one we earn from. Prices below were checked on eSimania, Airalo and eSIMDB between July 28 and 30, 2026.

Two things this table exists to correct. First, headline prices mislead unless the validity matches: Airalo's cheapest 5 GB plans are often 7-day, so a 7-day price sitting next to our 30-day price is not a comparison. Every row above is 30 days on both sides. Second, in the United Arab Emirates eSimania sells no UAE-only plan at all, so the only honest entry is its six-country Gulf bundle. We do not link to Airalo anywhere on this site; its prices are quoted so you can check them yourself.

Which travel eSIM is cheapest in 2026?
There is no single cheapest provider. Compared like for like on a 5 GB plan valid for 30 days, eSimania is cheaper across most of Europe and East Asia, while Airalo is cheaper across Latin America, Africa and the Gulf. Check the country you are actually travelling to, because the gap runs both ways and can pass 40 percent.
Is Airalo or eSimania cheaper?
It depends entirely on the destination. In Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Singapore and Hong Kong, eSimania costs 14 to 38 percent less for the same 5 GB over 30 days. In Brazil, Saudi Arabia and India, Airalo costs 34 to 42 percent less. In the United Arab Emirates eSimania has no single-country plan at all, only a six-country Gulf bundle.
Why do eSIM prices look cheaper on other comparison sites?
Usually because validity is left out. A 5 GB plan valid for 7 days and a 5 GB plan valid for 30 days are different products, and putting the two prices side by side makes the short one look like a bargain. Every price we publish states its validity and the date we checked it.
How much eSIM data do I need for a week abroad?
For a typical week of maps, messaging, ride-hailing and photos, 3 to 5 GB is enough for most travellers. Streaming video, long video calls or tethering a laptop will need more. That is our editorial judgement from putting these guides together, not a measured figure.
